As promised, I have released a new version of Envy (0.7.4) which will install the latest Nvidia proprietary driver (9746).
The new driver adds the support for GeForce 8800 GTS and GeForce 8800 GTX boards.
P.S. I will update my repositories ASAP

Tanks for envy!!!
Works perfectly!!!
Tanks and happy new year!
I have to say that this is my 3rd install of envy on Ubuntu 6.06 and its the ONLY tool I use to keep my gpu up to date.
Its absolutely fantastic, albertomilone never stop this project!!! 🙂 I always try to use the most up to date drivers on my machine and this tool helps with that.
Awesome work albertomilone, we love you!
Great, works like a charm, only one question… does envy have to be re-run after each kernel-update/upgrade ?
Tuxicity
Yes, you need to re-run envy every time.
This tool is great, till today I used only envy to update nvidia drivers – the most simple and fast way. Unfortunately in last nvidia unified driver my GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X 0x0281 not supported and moved to legacy.
Any solution for 97xx legacy drivers in new envy?
Igor
Your card is still supported by driver 9631.
I’ll modify Envy so that it chooses driver 9631 for the cards the support for which has been dropped.
Stay tuned 😉
Envy 0.7.5 indeed solved this issue!!! Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate what you are doing!
