I’ve been very busy with the exams this week and I haven’t had the time to post on my blog (or do anything else).
Sometimes ago I made a blog post in which I said that I was looking for suggestions to buy a cheap AGP ATI card (for my testing box) to test the latest fglrx drivers so as to include them in my repositories for Ubuntu (since my previous card was a 9200 which ATI dropped the support for since driver 8.29.x).
Well, last wednesday I received a package from Jeff Schroeder (a very generous guy from California) which contained a brand new ATI RADEON X1600 PRO (AGP, 256MB).
(It looks like the one in the photo below)
I really can’t find the words to thank Jeff for his generous donation. Thanks to him I can now work also on the packages of the ATI driver (expect an update of my repositories sooner or later) and I’m also working hard to include the support for ATI drivers in Envy.
Thanks again Jeff
Warning… it’s a pci-express card.
You’re welcome 😀
Have you got the card working yet?
Fred Smith
the card works great but unfortunately I have to study hard for an exam therefore I will not be able to update the repositories at least until February 15.
In the meantime you can use Envy to install the ATI driver
