If you need to use Envy with Dapper you can still use version 0.8.2.
Just installed the new release it worked flawlessly on Edgy with my GeForce 7900GS.
Thanks for your hard work!
I’m sorry for using a comment to reach you but I see no other method. I was wondering if you could please email me. I have some questions I’d like to ask about envy in order to share it with other users. Perhaps to be highlighted on my blog.
Let me know, thank you.
Thanks a lot ! I wish you best of luck for your project 🙂
Thank you for the Envy program.
I had no 3D / OpenGL working due to a failed nvidia upgrade and Beryl install. Now GoogleEarth is working again. I wonder if I should try Beryl again?
hi, just tried to update the drivers from 9746, to 9755 using envy, and x didn’t start afterwards. It said kernel modules were not matching… it also install nvidia-glx from the ubuntu reps, is this a problem with the script? or the way i have it setup? because envy 0.8.2 works fine…
b0cart:
read the part of this page where it says “B) Can I use Envy 0.9.x if I had installed the Nvidia driver via Envy version 0.8.2 (or lower) or via the Nvidia installer?”
http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html
Hi just followed those instructions… x still says “API mismatch the Nvidia kernel module has 1.0-9746, but x module his the version 1.0-9755”
Works fine on edgy with nvidia riva tnt/tnt2 Pro 16mb memory (old Compaq Deskpro en sff 866)
will there be dapper support again sometime ?
garijon:
I guess not. Envy 0.8.2 is still there though.
Envy’s GUI (in PyGTK) doesn’t seem to work fine on Dapper and there are still problems with the drivers.
