This is a bugfix release which should solve a bug which caused problems during the compilation of driver 9631.
I *warmly* recommend to update to this release.
An Italian user tested Envy for me since I haven’t got a new Nvidia card yet.

What a coincidence. About ten minutes ago ATI released a new FGLRX driver. And it looks like they are getting serious about porting their Catalyst to Linux ^^
I dont think ATI is getting serious.
Nothing significant in this driver ( as usual ).
…what about this:
New Features
This release on the AMD Catalyst™ Linux Graphics Driver software suite introduces the Beta version of the AMD Catalyst Control Centre: Linux Edition to replace the FireGL Control panel.
This DOES sound promising. They are even calling it Catalyst!
Yes, I think we will have catalyst on Linux next month. It possible that the driver will be de Easter gift.
I think I will buy chocolat rabbit with the AMD logo on his egg. 😆
Any chance for Feisty support in Envy any time soon?
shoofy:
there’s still work to do and the fact that I haven’t got an Nvidia card doesn’t help.
hello, this version not update ati driver 8.35.5.
alberto congratulations by your software envy, is very good
Sorry, i dont speal english
Sorry, not yet.
I’ll update it ASAP
Hi! This tool looks like a GODSEND and I want to try it out but for one thing: my linux is on a powerpc (iBook G4). Will there be any problems with getting the wrong driver? I don’t want to fry my card or anything.
Thank you!
(I’d search through past comments for an answer, but there are a looooooot of ’em…)
Szara:
AFAIK there are no ATI or Nvidia’s proprietary drivers for PowerPC on Linux. This is why Envy doesn’t support your architecture
grazie
ciao ciao
Alas, I was afraid of that. Thank you for your your answer, I’ll just keep my fingers crossed, and I’ll certainly use Envy when I install on my Intel machine. Cheers!
teos:
ciao ciao
Prova
Thanks to your tool i got my card to use direct rendering. (using synapic for nvidia driver installation i got a api mismatch version error) I was just wondering if the nvidia-glx package installation isn’t required for direct rendering, since your tool uninstalled that. (I’m new to Linux, so I would like to know)
ciao ciao !!
volevo dirti che ho fatto e funziona tutto perfettamente !! ^_^
ho disinstallato tutti i vari nvidia-glx nvidia-kernel restricted-modules ecc..ecc.. e ho usato l’installer per la mia versione (1.09631). Funziona tutto, 3D, dual monitor, beryl e compiz…Evvai !! 🙂
Spero cmq che faranno una middle-legacy così non ci saranno i soliti problemi ad ogni aggiornamento di xorg…!!
Grazie di todos…alberto…e spero che continuerai l’ottimo lavoro anche per feisty !!
ciao ciao
Great work there, thanks! I guess feisty support will certainly be a huge help to many users at this moment. A conflict between the fglrx driver in the repo has been causing total crashing of openoffice on many machines, and the ubuntu team has yet to confirm the status of this bug in launchpad…
Envy is PFM!
Is there a tip jar?
kannon:
have a look at the paypal button on the right side of this page:
http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html
thanks
Ah, let me rephrase… Is there perhaps an English tip jar? 🙂
(The PayPal link shows up in Italian for me… but unfortunately I don’t know Italian.)
kannon:
I wasn’t aware of that problem. I’ll fix it
Ok, problem solved. The Paypal button defaults to English now
It’s OK, don’t change it for me. I guess it’s just PayPal, which doesn’t seem to detect browser language settings. Weird.
Anyhow, I’m daft. 🙂 Easier solution: copy the email address on the “Make a Donation” page, then go to https://www.paypal.com/ and click the “Send Money” tab.
Once again, thanks!
