Envy 0.9.6-0ubuntu2 is now available. This is mainly a bugfix release.
Here is the changelog:
* Changed: libGL.so* is removed with dpkg-divert
* Changed: the textual installer asks whether to restart the computer (instead of
asking to restart the Xserver)
* Added: option to restart the computer in the textual installer
Please, remember to remove your previous release of Envy before you install this new release:
sudo apt-get --purge remove envy
You can get Envy here as usual.
P.S. No Gutsy support until Gutsy is released.
Alberto, just had to say many thanks. I was struggling for hours yesterday trying to get a 8800 GTX invoked under Kubuntu Fiesty, almost at the point of giving up I tried Envy and it worked like a charm with Beryl and all. Thank you so much to you, and your team. Keep up the great work it’s very much appreciated.
Grazie e come sempre ottimo lavoro 😉
Any chance for Apple TV support in the future? Apple TV got a Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT chip which is supported in the very latest offical 2.6.22 Linux kernel.

@XBMC_fanboy
I don’t own an Apple_TV, however if it has an Intel x86 CPU, you managed to install either Debian or Ubuntu on it and it has access to the Internet, Envy should work.

Could we just get a “use at your own risk” gutsy version? That would be a great help. Thanks for all the hard work!
Hi Alberto,
there still seems to be one problem with your tool. After installing the latest nvidia driver, i cannot compile any OpenGL apps. The error message says: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lGL
I solved it by: sudo ln -s libGL.so.1 libGL.so
Cheers Kermit
@Zach
I will write a blog post in which I will explain how to use Envy on Gutsy (at your risk).
@Kermit
the bug seems to be solved in Envy 0.9.7, which I will release soon.
Grazie Alberto,non sapevo di questo forum.Ora vado a schiaffarli tutti i miei problemi 😛
