sudo aptitude purge envy
Enjoy!
Cool, does it work on Feisty? My nvidia(tm) driver works on Feisty, but if I enable glx I still get only a black screen with a segfault 🙁
Luigi:
Not yet.
/me patiently awaits the Envy release supporting Feisty; must be the Envy 1.xx version by then 🙂
I’m also anxiously waiting for Envy for Feisty. I’ve tried several time to enable drivers for Nvidia but to no avail. There seems to be much contradictory and not particulary clear advice on the forums. So I’ll wait for F.
And, by the way, we really do appreciate your efforts. Thanks
Have to agree. The advice in the forums can really screw up your machine.
I finally purged the nvidia-glx, reinstalled it and did a
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
rebooted and the “nv” drivers worked – but completely removing my dual display setup of course.
The NVidia installer didn’t work with the latest drivers complaining about kernel modules not being compatible etc etc etc the same old story in other words.
Albert, your work is VERY much appreciated. A Feisty version would be appreciated by all!
