here is the changelog:
* Fixed: “ati” was blacklisted instead of “fglrx”
* Fixed: ATI legacy driver didn’t install on 64bit systems
* Fixed: envy attempted to download Nvidia legacy installer from the non-legacy http address
* Fixed: potential problem with ATI legacy installer
* Changed: Envy doesn’t check the model of your card if you try to uninstall a driver (so that
for example you can uninstall the ATI driver if you have a Nvidia card plugged in)
Any idea?

Care:

Option “UseDisplayDevice” “DFP”
Hi
I had problems starting X after I removed and installed latest nvidia driver with envy.
I will read through the support thread on ubuntuforums first, I just wanted to ask if you did any text log with envy install and remove? So it is easier to debug? Users with problems could post the log file…
Just an idea. Nice work btw!
Hello, I have a modem speedtouch and I use the driver speedtouch-ng. The problem is: When I go out of my cession it stop my internet connection and I can not downloade the driver with envy.
Ubuntu updated to Kernel 2.6.17.11 and as usual on boot, dark screen, no problem, with ENVY, just re-install the driver and you are all set, thank you Alberto, the Envy utility is my lure to Ubuntu alone from the other distros.
saluti e grazie Stenio
albertomilone, can you translate your answers in english? I can use google traductor but the best is a real translation.
pierluc:
The only two messages I wrote in Italian (in response to Care) can be translated as follows:
‘boot in Ubuntu in Recovery mode and follow point 4 of the Problems Section of this guide of mine and then reboot by typing “reboot”:
http://www.albertomilone.com/latest_nvidia_udsf_edgy.html‘
and the solution to the problem was:
‘I didn’t know that you use a DVI cable.
Remove all the options which I told you to add and add this one: “Option “UseDisplayDevice” “DFP” ‘
Champion, Envy works perfectly for me Alberto. Thanks mate.
Hi,
i’ve got one question:
Do I have to remove my old Nvidia-Driver (installed through apt-get) bevore I use envy or can I just run the script and it will remove my old driver and replace it with the new one automatically?
Thanks,
Tiantian
Tiantian:
there’s no need to remove your previous driver. Envy does it for you.
Alberto, I was hacking your code to update ATI driver from 8.35 to 8.36 but change gtkenvy.py this:
20: atilatest = ‘8.36.5’
8.36.5 is the last ati driver, but, when run envy again no effects and envy try to install 8.35 again…. is any other line to change in this o other file to get an update ati driver installation???
by de way, Great Job, this is the kind of soft to make people have a good reason to leave the window$ monopoly.
Raul:
Envy 0.9.3 supports driver 8.36.5.
Follow point B of the instructions and update to Envy 0.9.3:

Grazie e complimenti!
